Low Calorie Pet Treats...
I have been blasting through pet treats here lately to get Mya to do just about everything and anything constantly. Only bad thing is they are not cheap at all. We are already on our second or maybe third box. So I was very excited when I read in my Women's Day magazine that puppies/dogs love Cheerios. They like the sweetness of them. The article when on to say that they also have alot less calories than the store bought "treats". Not to mention, you can get a huge box that could last a very long time. Mya will be changing over soon.....

1/2 tsp. garlic powder (or to taste)
1 tbsp. Cayenne pepper (optional--I like mine with a kick!)

Holiday Mornings....
This recipe looks like it could make grown men cry... Or anybody for that matter. It is called Honey Ham Biscuit Sliders. I found it on Pinterest via Plain Chicken's blog. It looks just plain sinful I tell ya!! I think it would be perfect for Thanksgiving morning or Christmas morning...
1 can Grands Jr Butter Tasting Biscuits (10 count)
1/2 lb. deli ham shaved
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1/4 cup honey mustard dressing
1 tbsp. butter melted
2 tbsp. honey
Preheat oven to 400. Lightly spray a 9 inch pan with cooking spray---set aside.
Separate each biscuits into two layers. Spread each layer with honey mustard and top with Swiss cheese. Place half of the biscuits, cheese side up, in the bottom of prepared pan. Top with ham. Top ham with remaining biscuits, cheese side down. Brush biscuit tops with melted butter.
Bake 12-15 minutes, until golden brown, Heat honey in microwave for 20 seconds. Brush biscuit tops with warm honey.
Watch them try to resist!!!

Cold Weather Chowder
Is there anything better than a big pot of soup on cold weather days? I love soups. I know Alabama weather struggles on the "cold" stuff. But I have learned to love my soups year round. Most of them are even better as leftovers. This recipe came from Pinterest and looks divine...
Ingredients:
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup finely chopped carrot
1 celery stick finely chopped
1 tbsp. minced garlic
4 cups chicken broth (a mixture of low-sodium chicken broth and broth made with chicken soup base)
2 large baking potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 cup water
2/3 cup milk
2 cups chopped broccoli
2 heaping cups of shredded cheddar cheese
Melt the butter in a large soup pot. Add onions, carrots, and celery and saute over medium heat until tender. Add garlic and cook 1 or 2 additional minutes. Add chicken broth and potatoes, bring to a boil. Cook until potatoes are tender. Mix flour with water, add and simmer until soup is slightly thickened. Add milk and broccoli and cook until broccoli is just tender and soup is heated through. Stir in cheese and allow to melt...
Serve and enjoy!!!!

Can't Pass up A Good Salsa...
As most of my friends know, I love love love Salsa. I'm not picky---just about any kind will do. I love it spicy. Hotter the better!! I came across this one on Pinterest and though I would share it with you.. I haven't tried it yet, but I will I promise!!!
Anytime Salsa
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
1 lime, zest and juice
pinch of salt
drizzle of olive oil
4 roma tomatoes, chopped
1/4 orange bell pepper, chopped
1/4 red bell pepper, chopped
1/4 yellow bell pepper, chopped
1 (maybe two) jalapeno, seeded and diced
1 cup black beans
1 cup frozen corn
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
In a large bowl, combine the chopped onions, garlic, lime zest, juice, and salt. Stir to mix well and let sit while the rest of the ingredients are chopped. This will soften the bite of the onions and garlic.
Add the rest of the ingredients and and refrigerate until you serve...

Bells For Mya
Our new puppy Mya is growing by leaps and bounds.. Her energy level is amazing, but scary!! She is turning out to be a great walking buddy!
This is her on our road trip to Enterprise last week. She was so good!
Now our potty training is going pretty good. However, she has some work to do. She is still having accidents in the house, if she isn't taken right out. So, I ordered the PoochieBells Dog Training Bells yesterday. They hang from the door that she goes out of to use the bathroom. Hopefully, this will get her better at letting me know when she needs to go outside!! I'll let you know how they and her do!!

Diane Chamberlain---Great Author...
As most of you know, my love for reading is huge. And once again, author Diane Chamberlain had reminded me how much I love her books. She is a true page turner. I love it when I start a page and by the end of that page, I think to myself , "wow"! Her books are just that good. My latest one that I just finished by her is called The Keeper of the Light. Please click on the link I provided and check it out.. I promise you won't be disappointed...
I'm also excited to find that she has another book to that continues to follow these characters from Kiss River. I'm about to start Her Mother's Shadow. It looks to be just as good. Plus I'm not ready to say goodbye to these characters just yet!!
I'll post my review for this one when I finish.. But I'm sure I won't be disappointed!!

New Blog With Great Recipe's!!!
I came across a blog today that is full of great low carb recipe's. I have got to get a grip on the weight loss and cutting carbs and exercising is the only way to go. I finished off the last little bit of wine I had on Sunday, no more wine!! I think that has been the biggest cupreit of them all!! I'm sure the tortilla chips helped add on the few extra pounds too. BOTH have to go.
The blog is called Low Carb Layla.. She has a great Fried Cabbage with Bacon and Onions... I'm going to try this.. I love cabbage and it looks easy!!!
Ingredients:
1 medium head green cabbage, chopped loosely
3 slices bacon, chopped
1/4 large onion or 1/2 small to medium onion, chopped
1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
In a large pan cook the chopped bacon over medium to medium high heat. Once the fat renders off and there's plenty of bacon grease in the pan, add the chopped onion. Right when the bacon has just started to crisp, add the chopped cabbage, salt and pepper and the Worcestershire sauce. Stir occasionally until cabbage is softened and some pieces are lightly browned. Might need to add salt or pepper depending on your taste.
If you want too, pop over to Low Carb Layla to read the comments on how other followers cooked theirs and how they "tweaked" it. I always find that helpful... I'm going to add her to my blog list!!
