Summer Breakfast for the Kids..

Mac loves cinnamon rolls and I happened across this easy recipe on Pinterest.  It is Sticky Bun Breakfast Rings (click on the link for the full recipe).  Now I don't have a bunt cake pan so I will need to invest in one.  However, it looks like a recipe keeper!!  Especially when he has friends over!!  

Boiled Peanuts---Review...

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend.  I didn't do much.  Went and saw Men In Black 3 with a friend.  I think it was better than the second one.  But worthy of going to see none the less.

I also fixed the Boiled Peanuts recipe from Pinterest.  The recipe called for 18 hours in the crockpot.  It took closer to 20 hours for them to get as soft as I like them.  but I could have put too many peanuts in too..  The recipe also called for 3/4 to 1 cup of salt.  That was WAY too much for my liking.  I will half that next time.  Mac took them to his friends house and they were eaten regardless.  But be aware, your house will smell very strongly while you are cooking these!!!

Love Blueberries

One of my all time favorite fruits is blueberries.  I eat them just about everyday.  They are awesome with my Cheerios...  I found this recipe on Pinterest from paleOMG ---looks simple and tasty.

 Blueberry Honey Coconut Cups

Ingredients:

1 cup coconut Cream Concentrate or 1 cup homemade coconut butter

1cup blueberries

1cup Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil

1/3 cup raw honey

1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

1/4 cup cashews, chopped (this is optional)

Instructions:

Place a small saucepan over medium heat.

Add your blueberries and honey.  Mix to help break down the blueberries.

Once your blueberries have exploded, add your coconut oil and coconut cream concentrate.

Mix thoroughly.

Remove from heat and add your shredded coconut and cashews (pecans would be good too!)

Line your muffin tin with silicone liners or paper muffin liners, pour mixture into each cup to 

a height that you prefer, then place in freezer for 20 minutes...

Done!!!  Now enjoy!!!

Looks Like Tasty Chicken

I can't tell you how much I love Pinterest...  I have cooked more since joining this site than I ever have.  And 90% of it is really good!  It has helped me branch out Mac's normal "menu" by leaps and bounds!

This is Easy Garlic & Brown Sugar Chicken from Food.com.  And you know it has to be easy for me to blog about it.  ONLY 4 INGREDIENTS!!!

• 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
• 4 garlic cloves, minced
• 4 tablespoons brown sugar
• 3 teaspoons olive oil

Directions:

1. 1
   Preheat oven to 500°F and lightly grease a casserole dish.
2. 2
   In small sauté pan, sauté garlic with the oil until tender.
3. 3
   Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar.
4. 4
   Place chicken breasts in a prepared baking dish and cover with the garlic and brown sugar mixture.
5. 5
   Add salt and pepper to taste.

   Bake uncovered for 15-30 minutes.

Cool Find...

I am an avid lover of anything with a Peace symbol on it.  Just never grew out of it.  However on Pinterest the other day I found the coolest little ring.  It's of an Angel Wing.  I just fell in love with it.  I so believe in Guardian Angels and just angels in general so I had to have this.  I have a Guardian Angel clipped to my visor in my car---I promise you she has saved my life numerous times on our crazy roads!!   This little ring was at such a great price, I couldn't pass it up..  The Etsy site is TerileeJewelry.  If you go to the right of this link it can take you to her store and you can view all the other cool items she has.  Can't wait to get it!!!

My Love for The iPhone....

As most of you know, I have two children, Mac and my iPhone.  I love Mac more of course, but my iPhone runs a close second.  I just can't imagine having any other phone.  Looking back over the years all I can say is God Bless Technology!!!  I use my phone for everything---my calender (huge one), FaceBook, Twitter, countless games that I'm addicted to and to even pay some of my bills.  The AT&T app is wonderful!!

When feeding my other addiction, Pinterest (on my iPhone), I came across what is "rumored" to be what the new iPhone 5 will look like.  It is SOOOO pretty!!  I will most defiantly have to have one.

Favorite Things....

On one of my weekly trips to WalMart I found the cutest summer bowls.  I think they are perfect for portion control and for tiny little hands.  they come in several colors.  I like green but they also had them in red, blue, and gray.  You could even buy plates and cute cups.  All of it would be great for summer picnics!!!

They come two to a package and are $1.00.  There was also dip trays and other very cute summer items.  I'm ready for summer---how about ya'll!!!

Monday and More.....

I hope everyone is off to a great day.  I took Mac to the bus stop and then went and walked/jogged almost four miles.  It felt so good.  I was practically the only one there.  Thank goodness because I was really singing loudly to those ducks...

I cooked the crockpot Ranch Pork Chops Saturday.  It was a very easy recipe to do and Mac enjoyed it.  So it was a winner..  It makes a wonderful gravy that you can use, but I didn't fix mash potatoes so I didn't use it.  If you are looking for simple..  Give it a try.

I love finding motivational quotes from Pinterest or just from wherever.  I'm going to try and give you one each Monday.  I found this one on Pinterest.

 

Love My Garden

I hope by now everyone is watching their gardens explode with fresh veggies.  I only planted tomato's and jalapenos this year---and I planted them a little early.   But I just picked my first three jalapenos!!  I'm so excited!!  I'm going to have them in a salad this afternoon.

Can't really tell it, but these are my regular tomato's.  Can't remember what I picked out--but they are HUGE!!  Going to be great!!

New Favorite Lunch...

I hope everyone is off to a great weekend.  I just had to share my new favorite thing I found at the grocery store.  I am a HUGE salsa fan and love anything I can have with salsa.  So when I saw that Old ElPaso had come out with these Tortilla Stuffers---had to try them.  I split the bag and have the other half for dinner or the next day.
Give them  a try!!!  Really good and easy---60 seconds in the microwave....

Our Local Christian Gray......

Could we have our very own "local" Christian Gray among us??  As all of my work ladies can testify, I love a good smelling man---as do they.  I'm just more vocal about it, and older so I can!!  With that said, we can not leave our dear, sweet Adam out of the running for Christian Gray.   Now  my work ladies may smile alittle more when they see him, if they are reading Fifty Shades of Gray...  But remember, he has his Margo..  And this is all in fun...

Dinner Review...

Well I fixed another Pinterest recipe the other night.  It turned out pretty good.  It was the Ortega Taco Bake.  I followed the recipe but did add in black beans.  I think in the future I will toss in some Mexican corn and maybe some of my fresh jalapenos from my garden.  Mac did eat it, so that is always a plus!!

 

Now because I already have all the ingredients for this I think I will fix it Thursday night.  I found it on Pinterest, of course, through Living Laughing & Loving.  As ya'll know, I am all about EASY!!  and this only has 3 ingredients!  Can't get much easier than that!!
All you need is:

• Pork Chops
• Ranch Seasoning Dry Mix Packet
• 1 can Cream of Chicken plus 1 can water as needed {or 2 cans cream of chicken}  This will depend on how fast your crockpot cooks and how long you’ll be cooking it.  (Copied this directly from the site).

I will let you know how this one turns out!!!

Possible "Christian's".....

I have had a few comments on a previous post as to who I thought would be good to play Christian Gray from the trilogy Fifty Shades of Gray by E L James.  I'm open to ideas for him, but stand behind Jennifer Love Hewitt as the best person to play Anastasia Steele.

Here is who anonymous #1 suggested ....

This is Brennan Elliott.  I have seen him in prior movie's but I can't see him as my Christian.  He doesn't look sexy enough.  Maybe he could play Christian's brother Elliot or even Anastasia's friend Jose....

This is Alex Pottyler.  Now this guy I don't see in it at all...  I don't even know if I have seen him in anything. Sorry, can't even consider him...

Casting Fifty Shades of Gray

The hottest book of the summer may turn into a movie!!  Atleast that's what I've heard in the rumor mills on some of my "Hollywood" shows.  Wouldn't that be awesome!!  The book is on everyone's top seller's list.  And I think I have blogged about it now twice.  It is just that good.

Now who do I think should play our two main characters?  My top choice for Anastasia Steele is Jennifer Love Hewitt.  She is sweet, but I think could set the screen on fire as Anastasia.

Now trying to pick the "Perfect" Christian Gray, may take some research.  This picture was posted on Pinterest of William Levy--he is on Dancing With the Stars right now.  No doubt about it, he is beautiful.  But he has a strong accent and I just don't see Christian with an accent.  But looks wise---I'm all for it!!!

My other choice, ya'll might not agree on.  Ryan Reynolds.  I know he has played in alot of funny movies---but he can be serious too.  And he looks divine in a suit.  Plus he has good hair.  Christian is always running his hands through his hair!

So for now, those are some of the characters I think about when I'm reading the book.  IF I'm not playing the role myself---LOL!!!!   Who are your picks??

Going to start book two Fifty Shades of Darker tomorrow or maybe today if I get all my work done...  I'm all smiles about that!!

Breakfast Change

Do you ever find yourself stuck in a food rut?  I have drank the same Atkins protein shake for breakfast for at least two months.  Before that it was instant bacon grits.  My other favorite is Cheerios with a handful of blueberries.  I'm in desperate need of CHANGE!!  And I think I have found it---hopefully.

It is Egg Muffins..  I found this Pinterest recipe just by going to different people's Pinterest site's just to see what they had pinned.  Check out Pearls, Handcuffs, & Happy Hour.  And there sat this hidden little jewel.   It is loaded with protein, low in sugar and carbs and fits perfectly into snack bags.  Now Mac won't have anything to do with them---I don't think at least---I'm going to see if I can swing one past him...  I plan on making them Friday so I can heat them up for my work weekend.  Fingers crossed they are good and something different!!!

I Waste So Much Time....

Taco Night...

I think tonight is going to be "Taco Night" but with a twist.  I found this Ortega Taco Bake on Pinterest and it looks really good.  Now I'm not sure if Mac will be all that blown away by it---he has gotten picky over the last few years.  But he does love Mexican so maybe there is hope...

The picture is not that appealing is it?  Just looks kind of like mush!!!  I let you know how it turns out!!

Finally Badges....

Ever since I put the house on the market, I have yet to make any new badge's.  I just wasn't that interested in sitting downstairs in my office and doing them.  I like to watch a movie and sit at my kitchen table.  The light is very good there.  And guess what??  That is just what I did on Sunday...  I enjoyed it so much!!!

I didn't make many...  But I did figure out how to neatly get it all out and then put it all back up again!  It was so worth it..

Review Monday....

I'm going to call this "review Monday"---I did several fun things over the weekend and they are both worthy of doing them again!!

First, Mac and I went to see The Avengers on Saturday.  Let me just say the graphics were AMAZING!  The story line was not over the top so it was "believable" for SyFy.  The funniest of all the characters was Robert Downy Jr.  His humor makes the movie.  It was offered in 3D or regular.  We chose regular.  I'm just not a fan of 3D movies..  If you go see it, stay after the credits because it gives you a tidbit of whats to come.  Leading you to believe there will most surely be a sequel!!

I also made the Pulled Pork Crockpot recipe yesterday from Ally"s Sweet & Savory Eats blog.  I used half a Boston Butt---about $7.00.  The only other change to the recipe was instead of Diet Pepsi I used Pibb Zero.  I cooked it on high from 12:30pm until about 6pm on high.  Around 5ish I pulled the meat off the bone and just let it soak in all the sauce for about another hour.  Mac ate 2 helpings!!  He loved it.  He just ate the meat since he is not a fan of BBQ sandwiches.  I'm not a huge fan of them either.  But I love trying out all these new simple recipe's from Pinterest!!  And I am in love with my crockpot!!

Future Project...

Perfect Reading....

Everyone knows how much I love a good book.  Thanks to my dear, sweet, friend Lisa (that had to go and move to Missouri)---I have found the perfect summer trilogy...

Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James.  This series was even brought up on Access Hollywood the other day.  It's a romance that takes your breathe away.  Now, I'm only on book one so I can't give you alot of information.  But if you click on the link that I have provided---you can read the reviews and download it to your e-reader.  That's the "perk" of iPad's, Kindle's or any other e-reader----no one has to know what's really making you smile......

No need for the REAL thing anymore!!!

About two weeks ago, I discovered what I think will change my life forever---or at least my taste buds!!  This is now my FAVORITE veggie dip.  It is simply amazing...

Just take a packet of Ranch seasoning mix and stir it into your favorite plain Greek yogurt--mine is Oikos.. . Tastes exactly like ranch without all the fat and alot less calories.. .Another plus is Greek yogurt is so good for you... Perfect for dipping veggies or a salad...
My taste buds thank you Pinterest!!!

I'm Back....

I have let my blogging fall to the side over the last few months due to all the drama in my personal life.  I'm sorry friends!!  I may not be able to pull out all my craft projects right now in order to keep my house "show" ready.    But I can write and enjoy my blogging!

A new  favorite of mine is Pinterest. It is taking over the world!!   I love looking at all the wonderful craft idea's and recipe's that everyone post.  I have cooked some REALLY good meals and found some not so good ones too.  Pinterest offers so much, it can occupy your time for hours!!

However, for my friends that aren't on Pinterest (why I can't imagine), I'm going to try and post a few of my "favorite things" each day on my blog.  Expect anything!!  You are almost guaranteed a different recipe everyday.  I find so many on there---if only I had the time to cook them all!!  But I'm all about simple---nothing I give you will be complicated nor will it have a bunch of crazy ingredients..  Just click on the link I provide and it will take you to the site---simple as that!!!

Here is what I'm thinking about fixing Sunday..  Put it all in the crockpot before church...  Will smell and taste great!!  I hope!!!
